From Fairfax County Park Authority:
Sully Historic Site, a Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) site, is looking for volunteers with an interest in 18th and 19th century history and museums. Volunteers will work alongside historians to help preserve and interpret the 1794 home of Richard Bland Lee, Northern Virginia’s first representative to Congress. One of Fairfax County’s historic treasures, Sully is a unique location for volunteers to donate their time and talents.
Currently over 80 volunteers regularly contribute to the daily operations at Sully. Volunteers serve as teaching and touring docents, gardeners, and administrative staff. They provide visitor services and perform specialty skills such as spinning wool, woodworking, and other historic roles. Opportunities to dress in period costume are available during programs and school trips.
