Chantilly Woman Killed, Husband Charged With Murder

CHANTILLY, Va. (WUSA) -- Police in Fairfax County are investigating a domestic shooting in Chantilly that has left one woman dead.

Officer Bud Walker, spokesperson for Fairfax County Police, says police received a report from a family member of shots fired on Rembrandt Way around 3:00 Friday morning. Officers arriving on the scene found 44-year-old Kathleen Tran dead from a gunshot wound to her upper body.

Police say her husband, 43-year-old Tony Tong has been charged with murder. The couple's two sons, one in high school and the other in college were in the home at the time of the shooting.

The Vietnamese couple owned a popular barber shop in Sully Plaza.

On Friday, many customers of Sully Barber Shop stopped by thinking they would get a haircut.  But the shop was closed with a handwritten sign that says "Due to family emergency the shop is closed. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Police say Tong is in the hospital for non-life threatening injuries after getting into a fight with a family member.
